All proceeds benefit the Einah Reza Manalo Pelaez ​Memorial Scholarship Fund, which is directly awarded to young women pursuing engineering degrees in the NYC area. Since the inception of the golf tournament in 2015, we have awarded over $40,000 to deserving students. With funds raised from our last golf tournament in 2019, we were able to award $16,000 in scholarships!

Einah Pelaez, our SWE New York President from 2016 to 2018, was a great leader. She was dedicated to making our section successful and meaningful in many dimensions: professional development, networking, and outreach. Einah was a dynamic leader who brought amazing energy and capability to every event and project. She was a warm and loving person who made people feel welcome and comfortable wherever she went. We were fortunate to have Einah share her life with us for over ten years. All proceeds from our golf tournament, which was started by Einah, go toward scholarships for young women pursuing engineering degrees.
