UPCOMING EVENT: TOP SECRET ROSIES SHOWING – 4/29 at 6:30pm, HDR Inc
· SWE-NY will host a movie/social night at HDR, Inc (located at 500 7th Ave, 15th Floor, New York City, 10018) on Tuesday, April 29 at 6:30pm The evening will commence with a showing of the Top Secret 'Rosies': The Female 'Computers' of WWII. See the SWE NY website for more information.
· Film Description: In 1942, soon after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, a secret military program was launched to recruit female mathematicians who would become human 'computers' for the US military.
· Bring your old LEGOs! We will also be collecting used or new LEGOs for use in a school outreach program. Refreshments will be served.

- Region Mentoring Program
Region E is in the process of creating a new region mentoring program. As we discussed at WE13, we are in the process of kicking off a new region mentoring program. The program will be announced in the near future; further details will be communicated in the next newsletter. - Citizens Schools New York – Citizens Schools of New York is looking for volunteers to participate in their program which partners with public middle schools to expand the learning day and close the opportunity and achievement gaps for low-income students in New York City. Their mandatory Expanded Learning Time program includes targeted academic support and remediation, college to career connections, and apprenticeships—semester-long, hands-on learning projects ranging from robotics to journalism and culinary arts to rocket ship building. If you are interested in becoming part of this program, please let us know.
